Naturally everybody will think it's fake because of the date only to lose their minds (both positively and negatively based on their opinion of trump) when realizing it's real
There will be massive celebrations in the streets and on social media and lots of predictable "don't speak ill of the dead" discourse about those celebrations
Weird evangelicals will pull some weird number trick talking about how Jesus was conceived on April 1st and that makes Trump a sort of messiah and people will make fun of that
The Republicans (after they're done with the faux-sadness and faux-outrage) will stomp over each other to be his successor but none of them will succeed. They'll tear each other apart and have no single nominee for the November elections.
There will be discourse about if Biden and the living former presidents should go to his funeral (they won't, he was a traitor insurrectionist)
The Ukraine-Russia War immediately goes in favor of Ukraine as morale in the Kremlin is reduced. China similarly backs off from its threats on Taiwan.

i do truly believe “it’s the homestuck of gacha games” is the best way you can sum up the kind of experience hi3 is. there is a mostly chrono reading order on one of the fandom wikis (sorry) for all of the media types, including the order to watch the game chapters, which i partially agree with, but my recommendation of this comes with some major caveats (also note, i’m including the order for everything because you miss so much if you only play the game, the comics are great and the game assumes you’ve read them)

instead of reading the comics that are listed before the main story, i would wait until at least, like, Chapter 5 to read these, solely because pure chronological order ignores that they assume you know already things about the characters and how the world works. you kind of need to know things like what honkai is or what schicksal does before you get into those. you could still read Escape From Nagazora first, but it’s very old and has aged poorly so it’s not a great first impression (after a point the quality of the comics DRASTICALLY increased)
i would not follow its advice and play the Anti-Entropy vn before the main story. while this is, like, technically correct, it ignores that the vns are some of the densest, most utterly deranged, and aimed at hardcore fans of all of the supplementary material and i cannot in good conscience tell you play the whole ass thing before even opening the game, even if it does tell welt’s backstory. most hi3 fans have not played the vns. i would probably read it some time around Chapter 10 (ie before welt’s introduction in the game). this will cause you to be mildly confused occasionally by like maybe 3 chapters of Second Eruption, but it won’t ruin the experience and i would vastly recommend this over playing it first (i did this order). you can read the other two in the order they give, but be aware that the 3rd vn (Seven Swords) was never completed and the fan translation, unlike the other two which have very competent translations, is extremely poor and possibly done with google translate
that order also includes Sakura Samsara and Schicksal HQ, two side stories not released as main story content, which aren’t in the playlist but can be found on youtube. Sakura Samsara can be watched where it’s mentioned in the reading order, Schicksal HQ was never completed to the point of it’s incompleteness becoming an ascended meme and doesn’t mention anything important to the plot so can be safely skipped
you can watch Chronicles in the order it’s on the reading order (NOT the order it is in the playlist, they’ve just all been dumped at a random point)
don’t worry about about it listing animations, these are fully animated cutscenes with original songs that get released for major story moments/the conclusion of each arc and are also seperately uploaded on the official youtube account, but they play in-game too, so you aren’t missing them by watching that playlist. they fuck extremely hard and watching them on youtube is how i got into the game

also i would like to mention that the general consensus is that it “gets good” around chapter 5 to 9 depending on who you ask (it has actually been confirmed by interviews that they set out to make a pretty generic anime girls fighting monsters plot but then pivoted to having a serious, complex story instead quite early on, and you can kind of tell)

tl;dr that reading order is fine but personally i would ignore any advice to start with anything but the first chapter of the game even if it technically breaks chronological order. you can read the comics here and the vns here (fan translated and playable in your browser). have fun go crazy i read nearly everything out of order and my experience was fine tbh

I FORGOT ABOUT APHO that site separates A Post-Honkai Odyssey/Alien Space from the rest of the story but i would call it part of the main story, especially if you want welt content. it’s sort of an epilogue to hi3 and a bridge between it and hsr. hi3 has an epilogue despite being several years away from being finished because it is written by insane people. that is also dumped randomly in the middle of the playlist but the best place is probably after finishing everything else
